For a client who wishes to leave the maximum possible inheritance to their heirs and to preserve assets, there are a lot of different options. The best option for any client is, of course, going to depend upon their individual circumstances and their goals. One example, though, would be in the area of retirement planning. Many clients, when they pass away, have a significant retirement amount, whether it’s a 401(k) or an IRA. If the client has a beneficiary whom, maybe the beneficiary is at a young age or maybe the client doesn’t trust that the beneficiary is necessarily going to make prudent financial decisions, there are strategies that we can utilize to make sure that that retirement plan is stretched out over the life of the beneficiary and lasts them well into their retirement years.
